The Model-1010 Alarm Control Unit provides all the necessary hardware and software functions for control of local and auxiliary Alarm Systems. In addition to fire detection, the basic panel can be programmed to perform various tasks such as releasing device service, sprinkler system supervision, fire door and ventilation system control, emergency shutdown of industrial processes, communication
to fire department, etc.

The annunciator of the
Model 1010 Alarm Control Unit provides continuous information on each of its inputs and outputs. The integral power supply provides the system's power, battery charging and battery test circuit and is fully short circuit protected. The unit has been designed and constructed in accordance with UL-864, ULC-S527 and complies with the requirements of NFPA 72.

Inputs and Outputs

The basic
Model 1010 monitors eight analog inputs, and controls four fully supervised, short-circuit protected, 24 VDC outputs as well as four relays. Conventional fire detection and supervisory devices can be connected to any input. The internal circuitry provides a regulated, current limited supply to these detection circuits, and monitors the current drawn by each circuit.

Each Supervised output is rated for 1 amp maximum (inductive load) with total available power for outputs is 3 amps. All outputs are short circuit protected and reset automatically upon removal of the overload condition. A special hardware/software combination drive routine ensures that critical outputs cannot be accidentally triggered by electrical interference.

Field Configuration

The
Model 1010 can be field programmed and configured to operate according to the user's requirements. The user may select the type of input, e.g. shorting, non-shorting or analog, as well as the time delays between detection and alarm annunciation.

Each output can be programmed to operate or trigger with any input or combination of inputs using AND/OR Boolean logic.

Programming is carried out by means of a hand-held Portable Field Programming Unit (PFPU). Without the need of a computer, the PFPU allows the
Model 1010’s system configuration software to be easily modified on-site.
